Websites for cafés

A café website that brings people through the door

Nobody plans a coffee three weeks in advance. People search for a café when they’re already nearby, usually with one question in mind: are you open right now, and is it worth the walk? A good café website answers that in a couple of seconds.

The questions people actually ask

Opening hours come first, and they have to be right. Cafés change hours more than most businesses: shorter days in winter, a later start on Sundays, closed on Boxing Day. If your website says one thing and the door says another, you’ve probably lost that customer’s next visit too.

Then it’s what you serve. Enough to decide: is there proper food or just pastries, until what time is brunch on, do you have oat milk, is there anything gluten-free in the cake cabinet. A short, honest menu page does more here than a long one nobody reads to the end.

The rest is the feel of the place, and a few photos say more than any description. Is there room for a pram? Can I sit with a laptop for an hour? Are dogs allowed? Is there anywhere to sit outside? Small things, but they decide whether someone comes to you or the chain on the corner.

Your Google listing and your website should agree

For a café, the Google Business Profile is often the first thing people see. They’ll check the photos, the reviews and the “Open now” label before they ever reach your site. So the two have to match: same hours, same menu, same photos of the counter as it looks today.

Our Business package includes optimising your profile: categories, photos, hours, descriptions and posts. Special opening hours for bank holidays are worth setting there every time; it’s one of the easiest ways to stop people turning up to a locked door. We can’t promise where you’ll appear on Google, but an accurate profile gives you a fair chance.

Instagram is great. It isn’t a website.

Lots of cafés live on Instagram, and it’s a good place for new bakes. But people who don’t follow you can’t easily find your hours there, Google doesn’t read it the way it reads a website, and you don’t own the account in the way you own your domain. We’d link your Instagram from the site rather than try to replace it.

Daily specials, events and private hire

If the specials change daily, you won’t want to email someone each time. On Business and Premium the menu is easy to edit yourself. If you’d rather not, the care plan includes small content changes.

If you run supper clubs or rent the space out in the evenings, give that its own page and make it easy to get in touch.

Visitors from abroad

If you’re near a station, an airport or anywhere tourists pass through, a menu in a second language makes a real difference to someone standing outside. Premium includes two language versions; tell us which languages your customers need. See our services for what else is included.

Which package suits a café

Many cafés only need Start: £110 + VAT for a one-page website with a map, your hours, a “Call now” button and a contact form. If you want up to five pages, an easy-to-edit menu and Google Business Profile optimisation, Business at £160 is the better fit. Premium, at £190, adds a QR menu with commission-free online ordering and two language versions. The care plan is £9.50 a month. All the details are in our pricing. If you serve full meals in the evening, our page on restaurant websites may be closer to what you need.

Frequently asked questions

Is a one-page website enough for a small café?

Often, yes. If people mainly need your hours, location, a short menu and a way to contact you, our Start package covers that on one well-organised page.

Can I update the menu and opening hours myself?

On Business and Premium, yes. With the care plan we can also make small changes for you, such as new hours or seasonal items.

Can customers order from us online?

Premium includes a QR menu and commission-free online ordering, so orders come straight to you. Tell us how you’d like it to work and we’ll confirm in your quote what’s included.

We have no decent photos. Is that a problem?

No. We’ll tell you which shots matter most (the counter, the seating, your best-selling cake) and how to take them well on a phone.

Tell us about your café

Drop us a WhatsApp or use the enquiry form. Let us know where you are, what you serve and what you’d like the site to do. We’ll reply with a free quote, usually within one working day.
